Welcome to Sex Addicition Help

Elizabeth Corsale, MFT

License # MFC36769 I work with individuals, partners and couples dealing with a wide range of sexually impulsive and addictive behaviors such as:

Prostitution

Sex Clubs

Affairs

Pornography

Internet pornography

Chats and hook-ups

Exhibitionism

Infidelity issue

Compulsive masturbation

Compulsive sexuality fantasy

Impulse disorders and addictions are the very human response to repeated exposure (sometimes a singular traumatic incident) to overwhelming internal and/or external stress. These stressors can be natural disasters or man made such as violence, abuse, neglect or undiagnosed debilitating mood disorders such as anxiety or depression. When an individual is psychologically and emotionally overwhelmed they reach for things such as sex, gambling, alcohol, food, drugs in an attempt to manage or soothe their moods and psychological states. These attempts are short lived and rarely work, ultimately creating additional problems such as isolation, deception, loss of relationships, secrets, work related problems, money problems and physical heath issues.

I work with patients to help them stop the self-defeating behaviors, accept responsibility and accountability, create a relapse prevention plan and repair relationships. Repairing relationships starts first with the relationship to the injured self and the identification of the underlying problems and unmet needs that the addictive behaviors have obscured.

Recovery from sexual addiction requires compassion and a willingness to look inside one-self with honesty in order to understand the meaning the addiction has had in your life.

I work to create a non-judgmental, non-shaming and safe environment so the patient can begin to trust in themselves and fully accept their problems, free to move beyond the secrets into a meaningful, and fulfilling life.
